Short Biography:

Professor Adrian Fung graduated from The University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2013 and received his surgical training at the Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital. He became a member of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2017 and obtained the Diploma of Child Health from the University of Sydney in the same year. He pursued further training in paediatric surgery and urology and attained his fellowship qualification in March 2023. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Paediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery at The University of Hong Kong. 

Professor Fung is an active academic surgeon and is the principal investigator in multiple prospective clinical trials as well as basic science research projects with board academic interest including minimally invasive surgery in paediatric surgery, paediatric urology, oncology as well as translational research. He also has close collaboration with international research groups and is currently the International representative of British Urology Researchers in Surgical Training (BURST) Research Collaborative. To date, he has published more than 40 articles and abstract proceedings in peer-reviewed journals including GUT, British Journal of Surgery, Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Surgical Endoscopy, Journal of Paediatric Surgery, Journal of Paediatric Urology, Paediatric blood and cancer, etc. as well as key international meetings of paediatric surgery. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Scientific Committee and Member of the Publication Committee of Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons; as well as the Publication Committee of Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons. He is an Editorial Board Member of BMC Surgery. Professor Fung has also been the invited speaker on various paediatric surgical topics in the media, local institutions as well as regional meetings. 

Professor Fung is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Younger Fellow Chapter, The College of Surgeons of Hong Kong as well as Council Member of the Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Surgery. He also serves in the Auxillary Medical Service as Senior Grade V Officer.
