Dr Chung, Ho Yu 鍾浩宇
Dr Chung graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2004 and received his paediatric surgical training in Queen Mary Hospital. He attained his fellowship with the College of Surgeons, Hong Kong in 2011 and his doctoral degree (Master of Surgery) from the University of Hong Kong in 2017. He is currently the Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Paediatric Surgery, The University of Hong Kong.
Dr Chung is a specialist in paediatric gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery. His research activities focus on strategies to improve the outcome of various congenital hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal diseases. Besides, Dr Chung is a pioneer in minimally invasive surgery for paediatric hepatobiliary diseases and has performed the first paediatric laparoscopic liver resection in Hong Kong. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles in international peer-reviewed journal and served as reviewer or editorial board member of various clinical journals. Dr Chung has delivered a number of invited and plenary lectures in various regional and international meetings. Because of his outstanding research achievement and clinical performance, he was awarded the GB Ong Travelling Fellowship in 2018 from the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Carlos Pellegrini Traveling Fellowship in 2019 from the American College of Surgeons
Besides research activities, Dr Chung is also an active in surgical education and is the member of various educational committees in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He is also involved in the paediatric surgical training in Hong Kong by serving as a committee member of the Board of Paediatric Surgery. He is currently the vice president of the Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition to promote the locoregional development of this specialty.
