| Abstract | This chapter provides an overview of the development of speech-language therapy (SLT) in Chinese Mainland. It details the historical progression of SLT services, tracing their evolution from inception to rapid advancement. The chapter analyzed the current state of SLT in Chinese Mainland, summarizing key aspects across four dimensions: regional service coverage, characteristics of practitioners, features of assessment and intervention models, and the status of talent cultivation. It also highlights existing challenges within these areas, offering reflective analysis and projecting future developmental trends and potential improvements. The focus is to conclude issues from the present landscape, aiming to inform discipline-building efforts and policy formulation. |
