Abstract

Intensive and Comprehensive Aphasia Program (ICAP) has been prevailing across health care settings in the Western countries and demonstrating constructive effects in participants’ communication, participation, and well-being. Comparing to the expanding research studies of ICAP in Western countries; there is a lack of ICAP study involved Chinese or Cantonese speakers with aphasia. Therefore, a cultural and linguistic specific ICAP for Cantonese speakers with aphasia will be developed and tested in this study. The therapeutic effects of ICAP on Cantonese speakers with aphasia will be examined, as well as the outcome differences of implementing ICAP via in-person and teletherapy approach will be compared. This study aims to grow evidence base and bring new strategies to current practice.
