Professor Ray Y. Zhong 鍾潤陽
Ray Y. ZHONG (Runyang ZHONG) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Data and Systems Engineering, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He has an interdisciplinary education background in Computer Science and Technology (BSc), Digital Signal Processing (MSc), and Industrial Engineering (PhD). Before joining HKU, he was a lecturer in Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Auckland, New Zealand. Since joining HKU in January 2019, Ray won over HK$ 20 million external peer-reviewed competitive grants from Research Grants Council (RGC), the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of Hong Kong, Public Policy Research (PPR) Funding Scheme, Environment and Conservation Fund, etc.
Ray is one of well-known leading researchers in systems analytics with the following research fields: 2nd in Construction Informatics, 7th in Manufacturing Systems, 20th in Big Data Analytics from Google Scholar. He authored over 270 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers with total citation from Google Scholar is over 18,500 (H-index: 64, i10-index: 180), and is one of the HKU researchers ranked by Clarivate Analytics in the top 1% worldwide by citations since 2019.
Ray is an active member in the professional societies in the above two research fields, such as IEEE Senior Member, Members of ASME, IET, HKIE, and LSCM HK. He also serves as Area Editor and Associate Editors for some leading journals, such as Computers & Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and International Journal of Manufacturing Research. He has gained several awards from his contributions and leadership in the above research fields, such as the High-impact Paper Award from Engineering.
