AbstractBorrowing with directional carrier locking (BDCL) strategy is a carrier borrowing based DCA for FDMA/TDMA cellular systems. In this paper, analytical models for the BDCL strategy are proposed for a study. Two approaches are used: cell group decoupling analysis and phantom cell analysis. For low to medium traffic loads and small number of voice channels for carrier, it is shown that both analytical model provide accurate prediction on the system blocking probability.
