AbstractThe study examined associations between fathers’ work spillover and their monitoring activities. Participants were parents and fifth/sixth grade children in 72 Hong Kong Chinese families participated. Fathers’ work spillover negatively predicted their engagement in ‘child self-disclosure’, ‘listening and observing’, and ‘from spouse’, but not ‘active solicitation’, in the subsequent month.
