AbstractWe consider a multi-pair two-way massive multiple-input multiple-out (MIMO) relaying system over Rician fading channels, where multi-pair users exchange their information via the amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying equipped with large number of antenna arrays. Hardware impairments at the relay and imperfect channel state information (CSI) are taken into account. More specifically, we derive a new linear minimum mean- square error (MMSE) channel estimator for the proposed system. It is demonstrated that normalized mean square error (NMSE) is a constant when the pilot power grows to infinity. Moreover, the asymptotic spectral efficiency with maximum ratio processing is presented in closed-form and the power scaling laws are analyzed. Simulation results indicates that massive MIMO is capable of compensating the loss caused by hardware impairments, estimation error and Rician fading.
