Abstract | As COVID19 prevails, there has been rapid increase in, and dominant use of, social media to maintain social contacts. Will this trend lead to normalization of using social media as the main means of socialization? If this is the case, what are the implications to disadvantaged urban communities and groups, e.g. the old losing face-to-face contacts with their relatives and friends, served by robotics only, thus becoming even more lonely and depressed? Will those who are illiterate with social media, or unaffordable with social media be further isolated? |
