AbstractSince direct drive motors have not reduction gears, they are largely affected by the change of load. This causes parameter's changes in dynamic models, and the conventional time-invariant control system could not have desirable responses. To cope with the problem, selftuning control, sliding mode control and adaptive control are experimentally applied to the control of a direct drive motor system. They give satisfactory results for the variation of parameters.
