AbstractContemporary research has shown the emergence of the concept of “eduplay”, a fusion of play and academic learning in the Chinese community. Indeed, play is often put forward as the overarching principle for working with young children in their early learning. In addition, play-based learning is receiving much attention in the early childhood education. What is the role of parenting in play-based early learning in the 21st century? The study aims to explore the role of parenting in early learning via the confluence of the theories of early learning and contemporary development of 'Eduplay'.
