Abstract | This session brings together national and international scholars to explore the principles, practices and networks that create and support educational opportunities designed to address locally situated problems. This session explores the varied ways in which scholars across disciplines conceptualize, study, and take responsibilities for designing and collaboratively formulating solutions to situated problems within problem-based education. Central to the varied forms of problem-based education, whether at a program or national level, curriculum design, or pedagogical practices, are ethical and epistemological principles of collaborative or participatory work that foreground the multiple perspectives and needs of locally situated actors. This session showcases the principles, practices, and networks instrumental in designing responsive learning experiences within problem-based education. |
