AbstractAcademics across all disciplines in higher education have been reconciling the attentional challenges of screen-based technologies in synchronous, face-to-face learning environments with the promise they hold for supporting student collaboration and inquiry. This presentation will draw upon studies arising from our team’s HKSAR-funded video-based ethnography of problem-based and case-based learning across three undergraduate health sciences curricula (Dentistry, Medicine, Speech Language Pathology). The findings from our interdisciplinary team’s analyses of problem-based learning (PBL) tutorial recordings across these three curricula are indicating new trends and strategies in PBL facilitation that are illustrating the potential of technology-enhanced dialogues for clinical education in a digital era. Funding: General Research Fund (GRF) of the Research Grants Council, Hong Kong SAR (Ref: 17100414)
