AbstractWe applied a multi-dimensional framework describing language variation between two 500,000 word corpora of professionally-written and L2 learner-written dentistry research reports. Using the Multidimensional Analysis Tagger (Nini, 2015), numerous linguistic features were isolated, prior to an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) which determined five ‘dimensions’ characterising the register of each corpus.
