AbstractEnhanced cognitive accessibility of non-appearance-related routes to social acceptance is hypothesized to increase women’s body satisfaction after viewing thin-ideal images. As hypothesized, body satisfaction after image viewing was greater among women who completed (vs. who did not complete) a task designed to enhance such cognitive accessibility just before image viewing.
