Abstract | An efficient method for electromagnetic scattering by 3D buried objects excited by linear transmitting antennas which is valid for both dielectric and conducting objects is presented. The detection of a buried dielectric cube by an electric dipole and a circular loop antenna are considered. Using the numerical integration method, the steepest-descent paths (SDP) method and leading-order approximations (LOA), the current distribution along the dipole and the scattered electric field of the cube along the observation line are depicted. |
