AbstractAn algorithm to reconstruct the profile of the electrical properties of a slab medium is described. The reconstruction is demonstrated for both lossless dielectric and lossy conductive media. The procedure used is an iterative one whereby a distorted Born approximation is made at each iteration. The algorithm only requires a finite number of measurements at one frequency. This can be measurements at a finite number of receivers, or reflection experiments at a finite number of incident angles. 7 refs.
