AbstractA model is developed to analyze the performance of circuit-switching with packet overlay for the US Army Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) Network. To simplify the analysis, the network topology is assumed to satisfy a regular loop structure. The authors have developed a technique for finding the traffic flow on each link. A recursive method is then used to find the average total delay and the point-to-point delay in the network. The average total delay versus the allocation of the traffic is analyzed.
