AbstractA folded plate reinforced concrete structure covering an area of 32m multiplied by 36m is proposed for a games hall. The roof of the structure consists of V-shaped beams supported on walls which are slightly inclined and folded in the same manner. The structure has a span of 28m at roof level and an unobstructed headroom of 9. 4m. There are no stiffening diaphragms at the open ends. The structure was analysed for various load combinations by means of computer programs based on the finite strip and the finite element methods.
