Dr. Sik Hin Tak graduated from the University of Sydney’s Medical School in 1992. Initially a medical practitioner, he joined the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island in 1997, becoming a Buddhist monk. Three years later, he decided to travel across Asia alone to study different branches of Buddhism. After learning and practising for about 10 years, he decided to enrich Buddhist knowledge and took an MA then a PhD in Buddhist Studies in HKU. Wishing to apply knowledge for helping people, he further took the MSocSc in Counselling in HKU. Dr. Sik Hin Tak hope to learn more about contemporary psychology (and Buddhist psychology), for researching and applying the knowledge for the well-being of people.
