Professor Lui, Ka Luen 呂家聯
Prof Lui graduated in 2004 with distinction in medicine. He finished the specialist training of Gastroenterology and hepatology in 2011. In 2014, he was one of the very few gastroenterologists in Hong Kong, who could be allowed to receive hands-on training on human cases of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), image enhanced endoscopy (IEE) and third space endoscopy under the supervision of Professor Takashi Toyonaga in Japan. Beside advanced endoscopy, his research interests also include the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in gastroenterology and endoscopy. In 2021, he published the first prospective clinical trial on the use of real-time artificial intelligence targeting missed lesions during colonoscopy in Hong Kong.
