Dr Li, Wai Chi 李惠慈
Dr Polly Wai-Chi Li is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing of the University of Hong Kong since January 2020. She received her degree of Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Hong Kong with first class of honours. She then obtained her PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received several awards during her postgraduate study, including the Outstanding Thesis Award, New Researcher Award and Dr. Thomas HC Cheung Postgraduate Scholarship.
Dr Li's research interests include cardiology, gerontology and long-term care. In particular, her research efforts mainly focus on promoting appropriate care-seeking behaviors in patients with acute myocardial infarction, improving self-management for chronic disease, stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, and preventing cognitive decline in persons with mild cognitive impairment. She has obtained several research grants, including General Research Fund and Early Career Scheme from Research Grants Council, and Health Care and Promotion Scheme from Food and Health Bureau. Dr Li has published actively in international refereed journals, such as Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing and Journal of Geriatric Cardiology.
