Dr Lam, Albert Yun Sang 林潤生
Dr. Albert Lam received the BEng degree (First Class Honors) in Information Engineering from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong, in 2005 and he also spent a year at University of California, Davis as an exchange scholar in 2003–04. He obtained the PhD degree at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of HKU in December 2009. He was a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences of University of California, Berkeley. He is now a research assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of HKU. He is a Croucher research fellow. He co-invented Chemical Reaction Optimization, a general-purpose chemical reaction-inspired algorithm for optimization, which has been successfully applied to many different domains, including networking, computing, smart grids, finance, bioinformatics, etc. He is the founding Chair of the Social Media Subcommittee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) and have also chaired some other committees in CIS, including Young Professionals Subcommittee, Webinars Subcommittee, etc.
