Dr Ng, Ming Yen
Dr. Ng completed his medical degree and radiology training in the UK and sub-specialised in cardiothoracic imaging in 2013. He furthered his training by undertaking a 1 year cardiac CT and cardiac MR fellowship in Toronto General Hospital, Canada. On completing his fellowship, he took up the clinical assistant professor position in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, HKU. During this time, he graduated with commendation from the 1 year Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Programme at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ng is a fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and American College of Cardiology. He has level 3 accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He set up the cardiac MRI units in the University of Hong Kong and HKU-Shenzhen Hospital. He currently serves as the vice chair of SCMR education committee and member of the SCCT corporate relations committee. He was selected as part of the Future Leaders Programme of the SCCT. He is the lead instructor of the upcoming Massive Open Online Courses for Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI. He has obtained >HK$20million in funding for cardiac imaging projects (2 HMRF grants, 1 SanMing Gong grant, 1 HKU Small Equipment Grant and 1 RSNA Seed Grant) and has published multiple cardiac imaging papers including JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging, JCMR and European Radiology.
