Dr Ching-Lung Cheung is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, The University of Hong Kong. He obtained his Ph.D. in epidemiology and genetic epidemiology at the Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and M.A. in Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya (Sri Lanka). He received his postdoctoral training in the area of epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, molecular genomics, and bioinformatics at the Institute for Aging Research, Hebrew SeniorLife, Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA); Genome Institute of Singapore (Singapore); and the University of Hong Kong.
His research interests are in bone and related endocrine disorders. He was elected as a committee member of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) from 2016 to 2019. He currently serves as the President of the Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong and the honorary treasurer of the Asian Federations of Osteoporosis Societies (AFOS). He is the associate editor of the AFOS journal Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia and the editorial board member of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM).
