Biography

Professor Man-Fung Yuen is the Chair Professor and Endowed Professor in Medicine of the Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation, the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Deputy Chief of Service of the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong and the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. Professor Yuen's research interests include the prevention, natural history, molecular virology and treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He has published more than 280 research papers. He has received several prestigious awards including the Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2005 and Outstanding Researcher Award in 2010 by The University of Hong Kong, the JGH Emerging Leader Lectureship Award in 2006 by 4 major Asia Pacific Gastroenterology and Hepatology Associations, and the Winner of Young Scientist Award in 2008 by the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) – Scopus. According to BiomedExperts, he is now the third top author for publications related to chronic hepatitis B disease in the world. He is the top 1% scientists in clinical medicine according to the ISI Web of Knowledge. His H-index is 52, 43 and 62 according to Scopus, ResearcherID and Google Scholar Citations respectively. He is the editor for four international journals and the editorial members for many international journals.
