Objectives
To understand the evolving viral characteristics, including replication kinetics, tissue tropism, virulence, transmissibility and antigenic characteristics of emerging SARS-CoV-2 variant; to evaluate innate and adaptive immunity induced by SARS-CoV-2 variants and COVID-19 vaccines; to identify novel pathogenic mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2; to develop and evaluate novel antivirals and vaccines for SARS-CoV-2 and emerging variants.
