AbstractInnate immunity is the first-line host defense against viral infection.A potent innate interferon response is triggered when viral nucleic acids are sensed by cytoplasmic sensors RIG-I and MDA5.Our recent findings indicate that optimal activation of RIG-I and MDA5 requires double stranded RNA(dsRNA)-binding protein PACT.
