AbstractIn this paper, a new poling technology, high temperature poling, was put forward which uses weak electric field to pole piezoceramics under poling temperature Tp greater than the Curie temperature (Tc). This method is simple and effective. For the hard piezoceramics doped with Mn4+, the PCM, the optimum conditions obtained from the experiment are that Tp=260°C (Tc=258 °C), tp≥1 min and Ep could be as small as 150 V/mm. In addition, the aging property of the sample can be improved as Tp>Tc. As to the mechanism of high temperature poling, the most important factor influencing the poling is the establishment of a steady internal bias electric field.
