AbstractThe variational analysis for photonic molecules was presented. It was found that by using the variational theory, the constraint determining the resonant coupling was formulated which was consistent with the results of the both the scattering matrix method and the group analysis. A type of photonic waveguide for the two-dimensional system that manipulates the mechanism of photon hopping between benzene was also presented.
