AbstractThe lifetimes of infrared stimulated luminescence (IRSL) signals have been determined with a method involving a pulse annealing experiment. At an ambient temperature of 10°C, lifetimes of 1.0 × 109 and 0.9 × 104 y were obtained for potassium and sodium feldspar separated from a sediment, respectively. Implications for IRSL dating limits are discussed.
