AbstractWe describe a simple technique to remove failed Austin Moore prostheses. A U-shaped notch is created over the lateral part of trochanteric crest. The proximal fenestration of the Moore prosthesis is directly visualized and the bone bar is disrupted with simple instruments. There is no need to perform greater trochanteric osteotomy or to use special instruments.
