AbstractThere were many times of volcanic eruptions in Holocene and historic record period in Tianchi, Changbai Mountain. The volcano is not an extinct volcano, so it is very important to date the time of the last eruption. Quartz grains from trachyte in Tianchi, Changbai Mountain, were dated by the thermoluminescence (TL) method. The paleodoses were determined with modified predose technique using 110°C TL peak. TL ages of quartz heated after crystallization are in agreement with the bed series. The last eruption in Tianchi, Cangbai Mountain, was in 533±266 aBP.
