AbstractThe continuum modeling approach to transportation models is now gaining much attention because of its advantages in dealing with dense-network models,macroscopic problems,and initial phase planning.This paper aims to provide a comprehensive review of the development and applications of the two-dimensional continuum modeling approach.We first discuss the theoretical development and models with specific or arbitrary region configurations,and then review the applications of the continuum modeling approach to the determination of facility location,route choice,pedestrian flow,and policy and socio-economical analysis.Finally,we propose some prospective directions for future research. 由于在模擬密集網絡、宏觀問題和方案階段中的優勢,連續性模擬方法應用到交通模型的模擬中,正在得到越來越多的關注.此論文意在為二維連續模擬方法的發展和應用提供綜合的概括.首先討論的是理論的發展和對特殊的或多變領域機理的模擬,然后再針對連續模擬方法應用到工廠選址、道路選擇、人行道的規劃、政策和社會經濟分析進行評論.最后,預測其未來研究的前景.
