DescriptionThe Internet has revolutionized our lives in many aspects, and more so in tertiary education, where effective collaboration and communication between lecturers and learners is important. The IVLE is an enterprise e-learning management system, designed to empower lecturers, teachers and trainers to manage and support teaching and learning over the Internet. It provides numerous easy-to-setup online tools and resources that bring teachers and students even closer with constructive communication in a virtual world. Developed by the Centre for Instructional Technology at National University of Singapore, the IVLE is efficiently hosting over 2,000 courses of the university. The presentation will include a live demo of how the system is being effectively used and most importantly, how it could benefit you as a faculty staff.
Mr. Sun Jinlie is a Systems Engineer with the Centre for Instructional Technology at the National University of Singapore. He has been involved in the design and development of the IVLE system as a lead developer from version 2 to the latest version 5. Meanwhile, He has also worked as a consultant to help several other universities in the setup and technology transfer of IVLE to their institutions. The effort and achievement has won his team the Singapore e-nnovator Awards, 2000. Besides IVLE, He has also extensively evaluated and experienced with various online learning platforms and participated actively in the field of IT for teaching and learning.
