AbstractYinmingella mitriformis gen. et sp.nov. (Hyphomycetes), occurring on wood submerged in Tung Chung River on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, is described and illustrated. It is unique in producing short, true chains of holoblastic, aseptate, smooth, black, mitroform conidia from dark brown, flask-shaped conidiogenous cells on hemispherical, black stromata.
