AbstractThis paper proposes a sensorless initial mover position detection method for the planar switched reluctance motor (PSRM) by using the current injection. The mechanical structure and mathematical model of the PSRM are first described. The structure diagram of the sensorless initial mover position detection is then presented. Furthermore, the current injected the three-phase is a sinusoidal signal, and the range of the amplitude and the frequency of the current are determined theoretically. Additionally, the simulation model is built based on ANSYS Maxwell and Simplorer, and the simulation is performed for the proposed method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through the simulation results.
