| Abstract | This paper studied the effect of the chemical morphology and physicochemical properties of heavy metals in residue adding activated sludge, pig manure water, city sludge, woods mulch, biological agents and adding nothing under a certain ratio of manganese slag, molasses and bagasse by compost fermentation. The physical characteristics were monitored after 30 d's composting process and the total amount of 6 heavy metals were analyzed by ICP method. Besides, Tessier's five steps sequential extraction method was adopted to analyse the heavy metals speciation before and after composting. The result shows that the temperature in composting process is higher than the ambient temperature throughout the process. The pH value of composting system was significantly improved under the 6 conditions. Composting could reduce the bio-availability of heavy metals in electrolytic manganese residue and reduce the risk of heavy metals pollution in utilization of manganese residue. |
