| Abstract | Electronic control of the carrier-envelope phase in a 24-MHz train of 1-MW, sub-6-fs laser pulses has been achieved with simultaneous reduction of the pulse energy noise to unprecedented levels. Few-cycle femtosecond optical waveforms can now be synthesized with electric and magnetic fields reproducible to within known phase error (< 0.3 rad) for the first time. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001. |
