| Abstract | Assisting a person with cancer going through the process of sickness and dying to arrive at a simple moment of peace and understanding is an invaluable gift that a Buddhist chaplain can provide. At such a critical time, it would be ideal for a Buddhist patient to be comforted by a chaplain of the same faith. However, minimal resources are available to guide the process of spiritual care and facilitate the challenging work of Buddhist chaplains. Based on the Note, Know, Choose model, a Buddhist counseling approach developed by the author, this chapter outlines several treatment considerations and recommendations for Buddhist chaplains. A case vignette is used to practical illustrate the model in action. |
