AbstractNowadays, green concepts are becoming more and more important and more people have chosen electric vehicles instead of traditional ones. This means that the support facilities and infrastructure for electric vehicles require increasing demand, which requires cooperation between users, government agencies and service providers during the transition period. Firstly, the government launched the "Easy Charging Subsidy Scheme for EV Housing Estates" to encourage the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in car parks, while various service providers introduced different charging solutions and plans for customers. With the decreasing number of free electric chargers in public areas, electric vehicle users have become more demanding of electric vehicle chargers in private car parks. In Hong Kong, there are a lot of older buildings which are expected to face many challenges in the future, such as limited funding and insufficient financial status, spatial limitation of parking spaces, lack of necessary electric vehicle charging infrastructure and facilities, etc. There are limits to how much space is available, legal issues, safety concerns and many buildings that may be affected. Some buildings are still trying to deal with these issues. To address the foreseeable and unforeseeable challenges, this study aims to explore the possible strategies for the property management companies of the old building over 20 years.
