AbstractIn recent years, the burgeoning population of feral pigeons in Hong Kong has precipitated a surge in concerns regarding the disruptive effects of these birds and exacerbated tensions between human populations and avian communities, despite the implementation of various measures such as feeding prohibition and pigeon reproduction control by governmental and housing management bodies, instances of feral pigeon-related disturbances persist, reflecting the inadequacy of current management strategies. This research aims to explore residents' attitudes towards feral pigeons, the impact of these birds on the environment and public health, the effectiveness of current management methods, and suggestions for possible strategies. This research aims to enhance understanding feral pigeon management in urban environments to promote coexistence between human and avian populations.
