| Abstract | A close reading of Yung Ho Chang Writes shows it is not only a theorectical text of his thinking on the fundamentals of architecture, but also contains many indications to his position concerning "social participation" and "critical practice". By examining the text alongside Chang's most recent design and architectural practices as exemplified in Nantou Neighborhood Center in Shenzhen, this paper looks into the relationship between theory and practice in contemporary Chinese architecture. |
