Abstract | The functions referred to in articles 11(3), 11(4), 13(3), 14, 16(3) and 34(2) shall be performed by … [Each State enacting this model law specifies the court, courts or, where referred to therein, other authority competent to perform these functions.] Article 6 serves to allow state legislatures to confer competence upon local courts or other bodies in domestic legal systems to intervene in certain key aspects of the arbitral process. Its main purpose is to assist foreign parties to more easily identify the competent local court or other authorised institution and obtain information in relation to the features of that court or body. |
