This essay offers a queer Sinophone approach to examine how lesbian desire and queerness depicted in novels by women's writers such as Chan Ran and Wong Bik-wan from Mainland China and Hong Kong deconstruct narratives of Chinese modernity and heteronormative transnational kinship.
