Abstract | The 2021 International Conference on Computer Application in Transportation Engineering (CATE 2021) is organized by Hubei Zhongke Institute of Geology and Environment Technology (China), co-organized by the Universidad de Guanajuato, Xiamen University and Nanjing University. It was planned to be held in Ningbo, China. But due to serious situation of COVID-19 in China, it is still difficult to take international travel for the attendees abroad. For the sake of protecting all the participants and conference staff from the current epidemic, the CATE 2021 is changed to be held virtually through Zoom on June 5-6th, 2021. More than 50 individuals from over 10 countries will attend this conference from home and abroad such as Dr. Abhinav Vinod Deshpande from California Public University (USA), Dr Yuriy S. Shmaliy from the Universidad de Guanajuato (Mexico), Dr. Hyunho Shin, from Gangneung-Wonju National University (South Korea) and Dr. Chunhui Zhou from Wuhan University of Technology (China). The conference is divided into 4 sessions: opening ceremony, keynote speaker, oral presentation and poster presentation. Professor Defu Zhang, as the host of the conference will lead the opening ceremony. Then, Professor Yuriy S. Shmaliy will deliver his keynote speech with the title of "Recursive Kalman Filtering Widely Used in State Estimation of Linear Time-Varying and Time-Invariant Discrete State-space Models Often Faces a Problem of Unknown Noise and Initial Conditions", lasting for 35 minutes. Next, 24 oral presentations are arranged in turn and each for 15 minutes with QA corner followed. And 16 poster presentations will be displayed throughout the whole conference. This year, CATE has attracted 205 papers, in which 65 are accepted by our reviewers and editors after the peer review process, covering topics from computer science to transportation engineering, logistic engineering and other related. Sincerest appreciation goes to the conference chair, all members of conference committee, the keynote speakers, as well as all the participants for their support to CATE. Special thanks go to the publisher-IOP Publishing for their hard work on publishing the proceedings. Finally, I sincerely hope that CATE 2021 will be a forum for excellent discussions that will put forward new ideas and promote collaborative research. |
