Conference Paper: The 3-D distribution for a magnitude limited galaxy sample to Bj= 16.5 using techniques of hierarchical clustering

TitleThe 3-D distribution for a magnitude limited galaxy sample to Bj= 16.5 using techniques of hierarchical clustering

Abstract

Techniques of hierarchical clustering were applied to a magnitude limited, near complete sample of 107 galaxies with slit spectra redshifts to Bj=16.5 in ESO/SERC survey field 349 near the SGP. This multivariate statistical analysis enabled a quantitative and unbiased description of the galaxies in this sample into well defined groups, associations and field galaxies.
