Abstract | Photorefractive (PR) composites with growth times near 4 ms at 1 W/cm2, over an order of magnitude faster than previously reported polymeric materials are presented. These PR composites are based on the charge transporting host poly(N-vinylcarbazole) doped with one of three different nonlinear optical chromophores of the amino-dicyanostyrene type. Two-wave mixing experiments conducted with these composites determined the maximum steady-state value gain coefficients and the grating growth time diffraction coefficients. |
