Issue Date | 17-Nov-2023 |
Abstract | Designing freight delivery routes for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) combined with the pre-exist public bus service lines for last mile delivery in metropolitan settings is a challenge but significant issue. The issue mainly focus on determining the delivery routes for the UAVs and incorporating the public buses as moving battery charging station if necessary. To address the challenge issue, this work established a mathematical model to abstract the problem and proposed an improved Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (ALNS) algorithm to solve the problem. Additionally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the viability of the proposed model and the improved ALNS algorithm. And the result of benchmark between the scenario incorporated public buses and the scenario not incorporated public buses shows that UAV combined with public bus service lines for last mile delivery can reduce the total operation cost for logistics service providers. |
