Conference Paper: China's Productivity Challenge

TitleChina's Productivity Challenge
Authors
Issue Date31-Mar-2023
Abstract

China's economic growth has slowed significantly in recent years, with potential factors such as trade tensions, high debt levels, a struggling real estate sector, and an aging population being cited as possible causes. However, the slowdown actually began much earlier, with GDP growth rates trending downward since peaking at 13% in 2007. What are the longterm factors behind China’s growth slowdown?
